Sartell High School Selects Oistad as Head Boys Basketball Coach

Marcus Oistad has been selected as Head Coach of the Sartell High School Boys Basketball Team.  Oistad has coached for the high school program in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District for the past five years.  In addition to coaching basketball, he is the current head boy’s tennis coach and has coached football and volleyball for the district.  He also coached basketball for one season in the St. Francis High School program prior to working at Sartell High School.

Oistad will be replacing Dave Angell, who announced his retirement from teaching and coaching this spring after serving in that capacity for the past 31 years.  Angell and the Sabres advanced to the Class AAA State Tournament this past season.

Oistad teaches Social Studies at Sartell High School and has coached in the district since 2008.  Oistad graduated from Sartell High School in 2004, where he was a standout athlete in football, basketball and tennis.  Oistad received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies Education and History from Bethel University, where he also played football.
