Sartell Middle School Celebrates Veterans Day

Sartell Middle School will host a Veterans Day Recognition event on Thursday, November 11th.  Relatives of SMS students who are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces are invited to join students for lunch.  Guests will be entertained by the SMS 7th/8th grade bands and choir students.

Several WWII Veterans from the Sartell American Legion will present the Colors of the United States during each lunch period.  There will also be a POW-MIA Table of Honor set up in the commons area to draw students’ attention to our soldiers missing in action.

In addition to these events, students are invited to make Thank You cards that will be distributed at the local VA hospital and to military personnel through the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign. There will be military uniforms on display in the media center in the month of November along with the SMS Wall of Honor featuring pictures of SMS students’ relatives.
