District to Present World's Best Workforce Plan

The District 748 Strategic Plan to support and improve teaching and learning with the goal of creating the world’s best workforce will be presented at the District Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Advisory Committee meeting on October 25 from 7:30 – 8:30 AM in the District Service Center Board Room.  All are welcome.

Practice Skylert Test on September 21, 2016

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, the district will be conducting a practice test of the Skylert Communications system. Skylert is a messaging system that allows the district to quickly send mass notifications to employees, parents, the community and students. Skylert works through Skyward's Family Access to provide you with the means to manage your contact sources and choose how you will be contacted for a variety of purposes.

Herbicide Application Notice for 9/17 & 9/18

To control weeds and keep our district fields healthy we need to apply herbicide sprays.    We try to complete this type of application when there will be the least impact on usage.  As with any application, weather and wind have an impact on when herbicide applications can be completed.

Information About Minor Bus Incident

A minor accident involving school bus T-47 carrying students in grade 5-12 occurred this morning at the intersection of 2 ½ and Pinecone Road.  The Minnesota State Highway Patrol and Sartell Police checked all students.  No students or individuals were injured in the incident.  All students on the bus have been transported to school and received a card with further information.  Families of students on that bus route will be contacted throughout the day by the District.

Sartell-St. Stephen Schools Multiple Measurement Ratings Released

The Minnesota Department of Education released the 2016 school district Multiple Measurement Ratings (MMR) which scores individual schools on student proficiency, growth and achievement gap reduction. Additionally, high schools receive a score for graduation rate.  The combination of the individual ratings for each category results in an overall school rating.

Sartell-St. Stephen ACT Assessment Results Demonstrate Continued High Levels of Performance

Students in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District performed above state averages on the 2015-16 ACT Assessment. The ACT consists of curriculum-based tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science that are designed to measure college readiness. ACT defines college and career readiness as “the acquisition of the knowledge and skills a student needs to enroll in and succeed in credit bearing first-year courses at a postsecondary institution (such as a two or four-year college, trade school, or technical school) without the need for remediation.”
