On Tuesday, August 20, at 7:00 p.m., at Pine Meadow Elementary School in the Media Center, a meeting will be held to help inform parents who are new to the district about district services including:

Back to School Food Service Mailer To Be Sent Home Electronically

A postcard was sent to all distric famiies notifying them that the District Food Service Program will be sending the Bakc to School Food Service information home electronically this year.

Based on feedback from a recent survey, most people responded that email was of highest preference.  This email will come homesometime during the week of August 19th from the child's school building.

Busing Information Being Sent; Updates Needed

Your child's school bus route information will be mailed on Wednesday, August 21.  Please watch your mailbox for a yellow postcard with the information.  New this year, student transportation information will also be available on each child's Skyward Family Access account after August 23.

SHS Parking Lot Construction Update

The SHS parking lot will be paved on August 12, 13 and 14.  The west lot will be accessible on August 12, but not available on August 13 or 14.  Please park on 7th Street by the soccer practice fields.

Fall Sport Parent/Athlete Meeting (grades 9-12 and all Cross Country Athletes) in SHS Auditorium. 6:00 p.m. for Soccer, Swimming and Tennis and 7:30 p.m. for Cross Country, Football and Volleyball

District Calendars Available at Schools, In Communities

Sartell-St. Stephen School District calendars were delivered to mailboxes early this week to households that have children attending schools within the district.  Calendars will also be made available to all community members at all District buildings and throughout the cities of Sartell and St. Stephen, including both City Halls and Liquid Assets. 

Sartell-St. Stephen Early Childhood Program Rated Four Stars by Parent Aware

The Sartell-St. Stephen Early Childhood programs received the highest possible rating, four stars, for preschool education from Parent Aware.  Parent Aware supports a rating tool for selecting high-quality child care and early education.  The ratings are based on the use of best practices for preparing children for kindergarten and demonstrating a commitment to quality early child care and education. 

Sartell High School Selects Raehsler as Head Girls Soccer Coach

Cassie Raehsler has been selected as Head Coach of the Sartell High School Girls Soccer Team.  Raehsler has had previous high school coaching experience as an assistant coach at both Sartell and Sauk Rapids High School.  She has also coached several years of travel soccer for the St. Cloud Youth Soccer program.

Raehsler will be replacing Joe Perske, who announced his retirement from coaching after the 2012 season to focus on his duties as Physical Education teacher and mayor of Sartell.  Perske was the head coach for 10 years.

ISD 748 School Board Approves Interim Superintendent Contract

The Sartell-St. Stephen School Board approved a one-year contract for Mike Spanier to serve as the interim superintendent for the Sartell-St. Stephen School District.  The contract is from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2014, pending the hiring of a permanent superintendent.  Spanier has served in a variety of leadership roles within the district, most currently as the Director of Learning Services. 

An interim Director of Learning Services will be approved at the July Board Meeting.

Sartell High School Selects Oistad as Head Boys Basketball Coach

Marcus Oistad has been selected as Head Coach of the Sartell High School Boys Basketball Team.  Oistad has coached for the high school program in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District for the past five years.  In addition to coaching basketball, he is the current head boy’s tennis coach and has coached football and volleyball for the district.  He also coached basketball for one season in the St. Francis High School program prior to working at Sartell High School.
