Minnesota Department of Education Temporarily Suspends Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments

Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius announced today that the state will temporarily suspend administration of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs), until all technical problems with the testing system are resolved.  At this point in time, we, the Sartell-St. Stephen School District, do not plan on testing tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22.

MN Reading Corps Supports Elementary Literacy Tutor Positions

Would you love to help children grow their reading skills, succeed in school and get extra support? If your answer is yes, you can be trained to serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps at Pine Meadow or Oak Ridge. Whether you want to explore an educational career, reenter the workforce, or give back to your community, you can succeed as a tutor. Last year, Minnesota Reading Corps provided direct services to over 30,000 children in more than 700 schools across the state.

SHS Hosts Special Olympics; Seeking Volunteers

Sartell High School is hosting the Region Special Olympics Track and Field meet on Saturday, May 16th.

Volunteers are needed to run this meet effectively and efficiently.  If you would like to volunteer for a shift (9:00 to 12:30 or 12:00 to 3:30), please contact Ronell in the SHS Activities Office (uran@sartell.k12.mn.us or 320.656.3717)

Join Us for Education Done Differently Event on 4/16

All are welcome!  Please join us on Thursday, April 16, from 6:30-8:00 PM at Sartell Middle School to see and hear how technology is transforming and enhancing learning in the Sartell- St. Stephen School District.  During this exciting evening, student projects will be showcased and you will hear how teachers have redefined their classroom through purposeful integration of instructional technology.

No School on April 6, 2015

The Sartell-St. Stephen School District will not have school on Monday, April 6, 2015.  The district has determined to not use this day as a weather-related makeup day, as noted as a possibility on the printed district calendar.

District Selects Stumpf for Sartell Middle School Principal

Kurt Stumpf, current Assistant Principal at Sartell Middle School, has been named as the next Principal for Sartell Middle School starting in the 2015-2016 school year.

Stumpf has been the Assistant Principal at Sartell Middle School since 2012.  He has also served as Dean of Students at Little Falls Community Middle School and as a mathematics teacher and coach for the Pierz School District.

High School Marching Band Meeting

Any 8-12th grade students interested in Summer High School Marching Band/Color Guard should attend an informational meeting on held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at 6:00 PM in the High School Band Room. If you have questions, please see Mr. Lumley in the band room.

March School Board Meeting Held at SHS at 5:00 PM

The March Sartell-St. Stephen School Board Meeting will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015, starting at 5:00 PM at Sartell High School in the Media Center.  This is a switch from the regulary scheduled meeting times.

March 9 SHS Band Concert Time Correction

The SHS Band Concert starts at 7:30 PM on Monday, March 9th, 2015.  This is different than what is listed on the printed calendar.
