Minnesota Safe & Supportive Schools Act

Governor Mark Dayton signed the Minnesota Safe and Supportive Schools Act into law on April 9, 2014.  The Safe and Supportive Schools Act is a law intended to provide direction for schools to create a safe learning environment.  The Act applies to public school students and school-aged children who voluntarily participate in public school activities or co-curricular or extracurricular activities.  

Policy #514 (Bullying Prohibition)

The Sartell - St.Stephen School District updated the Bullying Prohibition Policy on October 20, 2014 in response to the Safe and Supportive School Act.  This policy aligns to the district’s mission of fostering a caring and supportive environment.

Safe & Supportive Schools Act Brochure

The Sartell - St.Stephen School District brochure is an overview of expectations for all staff and volunteers of ISD #748.  Topics covered in the district brochure include:  Guiding Principles, Response to Inappropriate Behavior, Reporting Inappropriate Behavior and the Bullying Prohibition Policy.  

District Flyer

As required by the Minnesota Safe & Supportive Schools Act, this flyer is posted throughout Sartell - St. Stephen School District buildings.  Staff and volunteers of ISD #748 are expected to use the information included in the flyer to provide a safe and supportive environment for all students.
