Sartell High School Weekly E-newsletter

18 April 2014

Our district has been asked to participate in a statewide study to measure the types of experiences that you (the parent) and your student receiving special education services may have had within the Minnesota public education system. Your input will play an important role in informing public education leaders and professionals at all levels, which will ultimately help improve the education experience for all students receiving special education services in Minnesota. Your opinions and perspectives are important to us.  There are no wrong answers.  All results will remain confidential and none of your answers will be used to identify you, your student or your school at any time.  The survey must be completed by April 28th. http://www.marketresponse.com/2014SpecEdParentSurvey

On Friday morning 11 April we had a guest artist/musician (Heatbox) visit SHS to do a master class and performance with all the SHS music students. Arts in Motion put on the performance to celebrate "Music in the Schools" month and as a way to engage more students in the Arts.  This week a link will be posted to the video of Heatbox performing (shot by our AVPRO class)...make sure you check it out!

Reminder from the Health Office:  When there is a two hour late start the nursing staff will not administer medication ordered to be given before that days start time. Parents/guardians must administer morning medication at home on two hour late start days for SHS students with medications ordered before 10:25. If there are extenuating circumstances where the medication is unable to be given at home on a two hour late start day, it is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to communicate to the nurse (via phone call, email or note sent with the student) that the medication was not given at home and should be given at school.
