Have you always wanted the spotlight ?  Have you ever wanted to face your fears? Have you wondered what might make your college application just a bit better than the rest? Then SPEECH is the answer!  The Sartell Speech Season is right around the corner, and we're looking for those brave and talented enough to take on the challenge.  The informational meeting will be held on Tuesday 25 November at 8:00am and 3:30pm in Mr Ronyak’s room (C232).  If you can't make the meetings see Mr. Ronyak.  Speech: We do for fun what others fear the most!!
If you are interested in performing in this year’s One Act Play, auditions will be held after school on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 December. Sign-up sheets for auditions are posted outside of Ms. Hamilton’s room (C234).  We are also in need of students interested in helping build set pieces. Contact Ms. Hamilton with any questions!
The Theater Workshop has been extended for 5 more weeks. Workshops will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-5:30pm in the choir room. The last workshop will be on Tuesday 16 December. All are welcome! Acting games, audition tips, improv exercises and more!

Chemical Health Week: during the week of 17 - 21 November the TARGET Club will be recognizing Minnesota Chemical Health Week.  This annual event focuses on the effects of using drugs. TARGET has various activities planned to heighten awareness of substance abuse. During each lunch shift the TARGET Club will have “lunch and learn” activities and will award a $10.00 gift card to one lucky winner.   Please participate!!!
The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery): will be offered at SHS on Monday 24 November @ 12:00pm. The test will be held in the theater and will go until approximately 3:00pm. If you wish to sign up for this test, please do so through Naviance. Click on the colleges tab and register under "Upcoming College Visits." Meet with your counselor if you have any questions!

ACT Test: Minnesota is providing an opportunity for all juniors to take the ACT free of charge this year.  We will be offering the test at Sartell on April 28th.  Many students choose to take the test more than once.  Students who are looking at playing sports at a Division 1 or 2 level do have to take the ACT on a National Test Date – those dates are available at www.actstudent.org.  Sartell will still offer ACT testing for the September, October, April, and June.

There will be a TARGET Meeting on Wednesday 19 November @ 8:30am in the foods room.

Grades 9 - 12 Winter Sport Parent/Athlete Meeting: Is scheduled for Monday 17 November at 7:30pm in the SHS Auditorium.  This meeting is for those participating in basketball (boys & girls), gymnastics, boys swimming, and wrestling. Please contact the activities office if you have any questions.

NHS Academic Breakfast: Has been moved to Wednesday 10 December, (same location and time) mark your calendar! 

Boys Basketball Players: Make sure all of your forms have been turned in. If you missed the meeting last week make sure to see Coach Oistad to get what you need. Practice begins for all 10-12 graders on Monday from 3:30-6:00pm, meet by the weight room. 9th grade practice will begin @ 5:30 in the Middle School North Gym and finish around 7. See Coach Oistad, Coach Koubsky, or Coach Hiltner if you have questions.
Enrichment Opportunity: St. Cloud Chief of Police, Wm. Blair Anderson will present “The Power of Parents: From Children to Citizens” on Thursday 13 November at 7:00pm in the Sartell High School Auditorium.  Chief Anderson will share effective strategies in raising and guiding young people in today’s society.  He will also address the role of law enforcement professionals in mentoring and interacting with youth. Childcare will be provided for ages 1 and up.  Please click here to RSVP for childcare.
Winter Sport Athletes:  If you would like to register for your winter sport and this is your first activity of the school year please go to the school’s web page, click on Athletics/Activities, then click on the registration information tab.  You will find the “click here” to complete eligibility forms link.  If you registered for a fall sport and just need to pay an activity fee for winter, go to the school’s website, click on Athletics/Activities, click on Registration Information and find the “click here” to pay activity fee link.
2nd Semester AP Chemistry Students: There will be a meeting on Friday 14 November at 8:00am in Mr. Notsch’s room.  Please talk with Mr. Notsch or Mrs. Thompson if you cannot be there.

Art Club: will be meeting weekly on Wednesday's and Thursday's after school. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of artistic ability!

All girls Softball Players in grades 9-12 interested in playing in the St. Cloud State winter dome league should see Mr. Driste as soon as possible to get signed up.

The Sartell Sabre Dance Team is presenting its annual dance show on Saturday 15 November. Dancers from the Tech Tigerettes, Apollo Astronettes, Cathedral Crusaderettes, Sauk Rapids Storm, Rocori Rockettes, University of MN Rochester Dance Team, Just For Kix, Ms. Melinda’s, Northcrest and the St. Cloud School of Dance & Gymnastics as well as the Sartell Dance Team will be showcased. The show will also feature the Sartell’s guy/girl dance.  Show times are 2:00pm and 6:00pm in the main gym at SHS. Admission is $5 for grades K-12 and $7 for adults. Kids 4 and under are free. Concessions, t-shirts and flowers are available for purchase.
