ISD 748 School Board Selects Schwiebert

The Sartell-St. Stephen School Board has agreed to enter into contract negotiations with Jeff Schwiebert to serve as the new Superintendent of Schools. Schwiebert was selected from within a strong pool of nearly 40 applicants for the position. The Board enlisted the services of search consulting firm School Exec Connect who presented seven semi-finalists to the Board a week ago. The Board interviewed and narrowed that group to three finalists. Following extensive screening involving multiple student, staff and community stakeholders conducted this week, selected was Schwiebert for the position.

Based on feedback from the stakeholders, and in accordance with the profiles built earlier this school year by those groups, the Board determined that Schwiebert best exhibited the characteristics sought in the new leader. “We had several great candidates," stated School Board Chair Michelle Meyer. "We are excited to move forward with negotiations with Schwiebert. He brings a variety of experiences and exceptional qualities of leadership to our district which will help us continue to move forward."

Schwiebert has most recently served as Superintendent of North Scott Community School District in Eldridge, Iowa. Assuming the successful completion of contract negotiations, Schwiebertis expected to start here in July. Interim Superintendent Mike Spanier will continue to serve in this role through the leadership transition.
