Settlement Reached with Sartell Education Association
The Board of Education of the Sartell St. Stephen School District is pleased to announce that it has reached a settlement for the 2011-2013 contract year with the Sartell Education Association. The contract provisions include a 1.75% increase in the first year of the contract and a 1.0% increase in the second year.
In addition, those teachers who have put in twenty years or more of active service with the district, will receive a longevity increase of $1000 beginning in the 2011-2012 contract year. Teachers earning lane changes will be compensated in both years and steps will be awarded as appropriate.
Insurance coverage provided by the district will remain the same over the two year period of the contract. The total cost of the package accepted by the Sartell Education Association is 6.853%. For the 2011-2012 school year, a first-year teacher in the district will earn a salary of $32,830, while a 20-year instructor with a Master’s degree plus 30 additional graduate credits will earn $67,180. For the 2012-2013 year, a starting teacher will receive $33,158, while a 20-year teacher with a Master’s degree and 30 additional graduate credits will receive $67,852.
“We are very pleased to have come to a workable settlement with our teachers that reflects the professionalism of our team and the culture of expected excellence across our community,” stated Joe Hill, Sartell-St. Stephen Superintendent. “We learned much from this process that will be refined as we move forward.”
The 2011-2013 settlement will be voted on at the May 21st Sartell-St. Stephen School Board meeting.
