Sartell-St. Stephen School District and City of Sartell Discuss Planned Road Improvements for Future School Site

The City of Sartell has planned to make improvements to Pinecone Road north to 35th Street North and to 27th Street North from County Road 1 to Pinecone Road.  The City and the Sartell-St. Stephen School District have been in constant communication about these improvements because of the impact on our two elementary schools, Pine Meadow and Oak Ridge, as well as the intersection on 7th Street which leads to our Middle School and High School. 

January 13 Board Work Session

The Sartell-St. Stephen School Board held a work session on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, to get additional details on a proposed bonding project to address space needs in the District.

The Board reviewed a variety of bonding scenarios, detailed costing of potential projects, timing of projects and site location for expanding.

The Board closed the work session to discuss potential options for purchase of land.

Sartell-St. Stephen School District Work Session Discusses Proposed Bonding Projects to Alleviate Space Concerns

The Sartell-St. Stephen School Board held a work session on Monday, January 11, 2016, to discuss the details of a potential bond referendum to address the space needs within the District. 

In order to continue to engage the residents of the District, the Board partnered with research firm Morris Leatherman to conduct a bond/levy survey.  The Board reviewed the results of the Morris Leatherman survey as they discussed ways to meet the space needs of the District.

District Conducting Survey to Gather Broad Community Feedback

The Sartell-St. Stephen School District, in partnership with the Morris Leatherman Company, will be conducting a phone survey over the next three weeks to gather broad community feedback on the District and future planning for growth within the district.  The district is in the process of creating a 15-year facilities plan to provide more space for student learning due to continued growth in district enrollment.

Sartell-St. Stephen School District Work Session Discusses Gathering More Information on Planning Proposal

The Sartell-St. Stephen School Board held a work session on Wednesday, December 2, to discuss the recommendation made by the Community Schools Planning (CSP) Committee in relation to facilities planning.  The Board acknowledged mutual consensus to move forward with the committee’s recommendation of the building of a new high school and the remodeling of current facilities to alleviate district space and capacity issues at all of the district’s facilities.

Minnesota Department of Education Temporarily Suspends Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments

Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius announced today that the state will temporarily suspend administration of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs), until all technical problems with the testing system are resolved.  At this point in time, we, the Sartell-St. Stephen School District, do not plan on testing tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22.

All are welcome!  Please join us on Thursday, April 16, from 6:30-8:00 PM at Sartell Middle School to see and hear how technology is transforming and enhancing learning in the Sartell- St. Stephen School District.  During this exciting evening, student projects will be showcased and you will hear how teachers have redefined their classroom through purposeful integration of instructional technology.

March School Board Meeting Held at SHS at 5:00 PM

The March Sartell-St. Stephen School Board Meeting will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015, starting at 5:00 PM at Sartell High School in the Media Center.  This is a switch from the regulary scheduled meeting times.
