*** We sent a test notification Wednesday, November 1, 2017. This was an opportunity for families to verify contact preferences and make sure we are on your "safe senders" list for email. ***

The Sartell-St. Stephen School District uses Skylert, a messaging system that allows the District to quickly send mass notifications to parents/guardians, employees,  and the community in the event of an emergency.

Skylert works through Skyward's Family Access to allow you to manage your contact preferences via:

  • Telephone/Cell Phone electronically recorded messages
  • E-mails
  • Text messages/SMS

We use Skylert to communicate emergency situations, weather-related delays/cancellations, low lunch account balances, changes to scheduled events, and general school information.

You decide the contact method(s) by which you receive messages.

To verify and update your Skylert contact information:

  1. Log in to your Family Access account
  2. Click Skylert on the left-hand side
  3. Update your contact information and/or preference of notification delivery.
  4. Select the check boxes in the columns to activate or deactivate that mode of communication with the following headings:
  • Non-school Hours Emergency for events that happen when school is not in session, such as school closings due to overnight snow storms.
  • School Hours Emergency for events that happen during the school day, such as early closings due to snow storms or other emergencies.
  • General for informational purposes only regarding various District or school events and details. This will include routine school/program emails.
  • Food Service for when food service balances fall below $20.00 or is at a negative balance.
  • Survey if we need your opinion on matters important to your school or the district. This option will only be seldomly.

You can add and remove checkmarks as you wish for the various types of contact calls, emails, or text messages.  Even though you may have checked phone numbers to receive text messages, you must also 'opt in' to receive the text services for each number under the ‘Text Message Numbers’ heading.

If you do not know your Family Access login information, please contact Marlyce Plante at (320) 656-3701 ext. 1131, or
