Snack Policy

In 2013 the Early Childhood Program adopted the Health and Wellness policy of the school district. The policy states that we will try to provide children with nutritious and healthy snacks. A list of healthy snacks will be provided for you from your child’s teacher. If you have any questions, please consult your child’s teacher.

Please send snacks that do not require cooking, as small appliances are not permitted at school to allow for such preparation. The children love snack time. It is a great way for them to get to know their friends and teachers and try new things to eat. Each month,  your teacher will let you know who is responsible to bring snack that day. When it is your turn to bring snack, please send an unopened, store bought, healthy snack.

We celebrate birthdays in Preschool and in most cases, the teacher will send the snack bag home to coincide with birthdays. We ask parents/guardians choose a healthy snack to send on their child’s birthday. All snacks MUST be store bought. Cookies, cupcakes or candy will NOT be served.

If your child has an allergy, please talk to our nurse and the teacher. If there is an allergy if your child’s classroom, the teacher will let you if you need to avoid any foods when sending snack.
