Students with an Individualized Education Plan
Students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) - Special Education and 504
Case Managers will be contacting families of students with an IEP individually to discuss and plan for delivery of instruction. Staff from Benton-Stearns Education District is working closely with our teachers to adapt instruction to meet each child's unique needs. If a student's special education and related services or accommodations and modifications need to be modified due to Distance Learning, the changes will be outlined in a Distance Learning Plan through the use use of a Prior Written Notice given to parents.
Many students with IEPs use iPads and MacBooks for their learning; instruction and the mode of use may be modified in order to ensure compliance with IEPs and may include paper packets or worksheets, textbooks, telephone contacts, Schoology or other online resources. I.E.P. and Evaluation Meetings will be conducted through virtual meetings or telephone conference calls.
- Younger students with IEPs will be served through the use of home computers or loaned iPads or Chromebooks from the District. Connections to programs will be assured through internet access at home or provided by the District.
- Students with IEPs will have access (video conferencing, email, or phone calls) to their case manager.
- Translation services will be provided as needed to conduct meetings with parents.
