This information is critical to our ability to keep track of school-specific case rates and community spread which is used to assist us in bringing students back to in-person instruction.

A reminder that our COVID-19 dashboard shows how many students and staff have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days. Note that the dashboard only indicates positive cases and does not include those who have had close contact with a positive case and need to quarantine.

    Hello Oak Ridge Families!

As you are aware, due to COVID-19-related staffing shortages, we were forced to move Oak Ridge Early Learning Center to a Distance Learning model beginning on Thursday, November 5.  We anticipate ORELC will remain in this model until at least Wednesday, November 18. The district will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with families.

At the present time, we know this type of change can be difficult for our families, students, and staff. We continue to encourage all of you to do the best you can with whatever situation you may find yourself in.  Here is the link for our daily Distance Learning model over the next 9 school days from November 5 - November 18.

NO SCHOOL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9 - Grades PreK-12: Teacher Professional Development day.

    DISTANCE LEARNING ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Students are required to log in via Schoology each morning, watch the recorded Morning Meeting from their homeroom teacher, and respond to the question of the day. This will be used as the attendance requirement for distance learning each school day.

To report an absence, families should call the ORELC office 320-258-3693 by 8:30 am on the day of the student’s absence. The attendance line is available to receive messages 24 hours a day. If the family does not report an absence within one school day, the absence will be recorded as an unexcused absence.

    COVID-19 MONITORING
Please continue to monitor your child’s symptoms of potential COVID 19 infection or exposure so we can accurately assess building community spread. If your child has symptoms or cannot attend distance learning due to illness, please call our ORELC office to report the absence just like any traditional school day.

    EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION (ECFE)
During this time of Distance Learning, we will be placing a pause on all ECFE classes.  Our full ECFE class menu will return starting the week of Monday, November 30.  We are currently exploring options for make-up classes and/or refunds as we monitor other district-wide decisions related to COVID-19.

    EARLY CHILDHOOD BILLING REMINDER
To all parents of Early Childhood students, our electronic payment system has been fully active in Skyward.

    • Please log-in to the Skyward Family Access account and make sure that your Early Childhood student is the selected child.
    • On the left-hand side you will see a tab named fee management.  You will select that option, and once opened you should be able to see your tuition bill for the academic year.
    • The payments have been divided into 9 monthly bills.  You can pay the minimum payment or more if you choose.
    • Currently, we have the payments set to be due to 15th of each month; for example, the bill due by November 15th actually pays for the month of December preschool. However, I will not start following up with families until the 1st of the month. Please note that there have been some troubles with the app on Smartphones.  We are working on that, and for the meantime if you have trouble with the app, please pay by using the online system through an internet browser.

Options to pay at this point are by card online or by check in our office. If you pay by check in our office we will enter it into the online system with you present so we can get you a receipt.  For all payments you have made thus far - or any future payments - you can print out your receipts at any time in the Skyward system.  Please call ORELC principal Jason Mielke at 320-656-3762 or email with all billing questions.  Thank you!
