ORE Weekly News
Hello ORE families!
NO SCHOOL – Monday, January 21 - Teacher Workshop
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES - FEBRUARY 21 & 28
Reserve a time to meet using Skyward Family Access. If you need assistance click here for scheduling directions. Conferences will be held on Thursday, February 21 & Thursday, February 28 from 3-7p.m.
The semester ends today, Friday, January 18. Look for report cards to be coming home with your child(ren) on Friday, January 25.
STUDENT ARRIVAL Please do not drop off students before 7:20 a.m. Our staff does not start until that time, so students are not supervised before 7:20 a.m.
A REMINDER FROM THE DISTRICT NURSE: Please help us minimize the spread of illness. This is the time of year that we typically see a peak in Influenza and want to do our best to protect our schools. For symptoms, MN Dept. of Health resources, and contact information for each building's nurse, please visit https://www.sartell.k12.mn.us/healthservices.
Do you have a child (or know of somebody) who will be starting Kindergarten next fall? If so, it is time to register your student for the 2019-2020 school year. Kindergarten registration packets were mailed earlier this month to families who, according to our school census, have a student eligible to attend (5 years on or before September 1, 2019). If you did not receive your packet in the mail, please call the Oak Ridge office at 320-258-3693. A Kindergarten Information Night will be held at Oak Ridge Elementary on Tuesday, January 29. There will be paperwork support from 5:30-6:00 pm and a presentation from 6:00-7:00 pm. This evening is dedicated to assisting parents/guardians from both schools to complete registration paperwork and share a short presentation for parents who are sending their first child to Sartell-St. Stephen schools. This is an informational meeting for parents/guardians only, children should not attend.
AFTER SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
Please send a note with your child(ren) so the change can be communicated sooner rather than later. If no written information is received from a parent/guardian, the student will go to their regular destination by usual means. Written information is especially important at the primary level as children this age can easily become confused. Changes should be kept to a minimum to avoid confusion and interruption to classroom instructional time.
DISTRICT MOBILE APP
We are excited to announce our District app is available for download! Search for Sartell-St. Stephen Schools in your app store. This free app features calendar feeds, building announcements, social media, important links and resources, and more. Many of the features do not require a password (so grandparents/loved ones can see what's going on in school). The Student Info section is password protected. Parents who typically have Skyward access will receive credentials in the near future to view cafeteria balance, bus info, library details, and more. To learn more, watch this video and look at this handout.
