    Distance Learning Day: 
    Today is a Distance Learning day.  Students will have synchronous (live) classes in the morning. The schedule for the day is below. Students are expected to login for each class and stay until the teacher dismisses them. There will be no Encore, Study Hall or Music Ensembles.

    Parents/Guardians of In-Person Learners:
    The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments will occur on the following dates, during your students appropriate subject period.


    MCA Math: May 3-6
    MCA Science (8th grade only): May 10-12

    You may wish to prepare your student for the assessments by providing them with:

    • Headphones:  AirPods/Bluetooth earbuds are NOT acceptable.  They must be plug in as indicated on the school supply list.
    • the opportunity to become familiar with the format of the test using the Minnesota Department of Education's Sample Tests
    • a quiet study area and time every day for homework and reading
    • outlets for relaxation and rest

    Share your enthusiasm and interest in reading, mathematics, and science encourage your student to:

    • do well, but don’t put undue pressure on him/her
    • relax, focus, and think positively for better success

    Ramadan:
    The main office will be available to anyone who observes Ramadan and would like an alternative location for lunch and the small conference room will be available for prayer.  If you have additional questions or concerns, please reach out to the main office at 320-656-3710.

    Meals available for pick up
    ISD 748 Food Service Department will provide meals for students on the Distance Learning/No School days that were added to the calendar. Meals are free for all District students and sign up is not required. Meals can be picked up on the following dates from either Sartell Middle School from 8-9a (door 5) or Sartell High School from 12-1p (door 19).

    • Friday, April 30: 6-12 graders
    • Friday, May 14: 6-12 graders

    Families may pick up at whatever building/time is most convenient, not limited to the building the student attends. Please contact the Food Service Office with any questions.

    Lab-Confirmed COVID-19 Tests
    Due to the increasing number of unproven COVID-19 tests circulating in our community,  all students who are testing for COVID-19 must provide lab-confirmed test results (positive or negative) to their building nurse prior to returning to school.  Questions?     Saturday, April 24: Free Food Boxes
    Families: free food boxes are available Saturday, April 24 at 11:30a. Feeding Area Children Together (FACT) & Farmer to Families will have free fresh food (meat/no pork, dairy, & produce) for pick up at the FACT office (2625 Clearwater Road, 56301). Everyone is welcome to the drive-thru/pickup. You do not have to be enrolled in the FACT Pack program to receive food. Please view this flyer for information. Questions?     SMS is hosting a Buy One Get One Free Scholastic Book Fair!   Students can purchase books on Tuesday, April 27; Wednesday, April 28; and Thursday, April 29.  Scholastic Book Fair flyers will be handed out to students promoting just a few of the books that will be available.  The Book Fair accepts checks made payable to SMS, cash, credit cards and Scholastic now offers an e-wallet option! Students may also purchase books online. Use this link for information (including how to set up an e-wallet account).

    Spring sports are now open for registration.  Please use this link to register.  A valid sports physical is required to participate.  Practice times are Monday through Friday 3:45 to 5:30.  Games will be posted to this schedule.  If you have any questions, please contact Cody Olson via email or 320.257.0821.

    SPRING MIDDLE SCHOOL STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING:  April 6-May 28
    The strength and conditioning program at SMS is now open for registration. Workouts will be held from 6:45-7:30am.  Group 1 meets Monday and Wednesday and Group 2 meets Tuesday and Thursday.   Limit of 50 students per group.  A valid sports physical is required to participate.  Sign up using this link.  If you have any questions, please contact Cody Olson via email or 320.257.0821.

    Grade 6: Powerhouse Swimming Camp - April 12-23
    Coach Jason Anderson is having a swimming camp for sixth grade boys.  The camp will focus on teaching competitive racing techniques in all four strokes plus starts and turns.  It will culminate in a short meet on the final day.  This is a great opportunity to see if you would enjoy being a competitive swimmer!  You don’t need any experience to participate, so come to the pool and have some fun.  Use the attachment and QR code to sign up.

    Yearbook Pictures
    If your student missed school pictures this fall, and they would still like to be included in the SMS 2020-2021 Yearbook, please use this form to submit a picture. If your student had school pictures taken, their school picture will be used. To ensure that your student’s picture is included, please submit a picture that meets the following requirements:

    • Headshots only (head and shoulders)
    • No filters
    • Plain background
    • Should not be a selfie
