Week of May 27th
Yearbooks: Yearbooks will be distributed at the end of this week. If you did not purchase one, we have extra hardcover yearbooks available for purchase. The yearbook staff will be selling hardcover yearbooks in the commons from 7:45 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The price is $20. Cash and checks payable to Sartell Middle School are accepted.
All library books are due no later than Tuesday, May 28th: Parent notification will be sent to students who have not returned their overdue books regarding the replacement fee.
School Supply Lists for 2019-2020:
5th Grade DARE Graduation: DARE graduation is Wednesday, May 29th at 2:00 in the North Gym. If you would like to attend, please plan to arrive with enough time to check in at the office. Please meet your child back in their homeroom classroom if you would like to take your child home with you after graduation. Along with graduation the students will be bowling at Great River Bowl on May 28th (blue team) and May 29th (white team).
Color Guard Practice: Color Guard members please plan on attending on Tuesday, May 28th from 3:45-4:45. We will begin in Mrs. Olson’s room, 816. Please bring a water bottle, comfortable clothes and tennis shoes!
Registration for Fall Sports 2019-2020: Registration will start August 1, 2019, and can be accessed on the school website. Mark your calendar to attend the Fall Parent/Athlete meeting for all 7th and 8th fall sports on Wednesday, August 21st at 6 p.m. in the SMS North Gym. Fall sports start practice on 8/26/19 and include: Football, Volleyball, Girls Tennis, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, and Girls Swimming. Cross Country practice starts on 8/1/2 19.
Open House for 2019 – 2020: Grades 6-8 Open House is Wednesday, August 28th, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. Grade 5 Orientation is Tuesday, August 27th. Scheduled times will be assigned and mailed to parents in August 2019 for 5th Grade Orientation.
7th Grade Sports Physical: A reminder for parents of current 6th grade students planning to play middle school sports in 7th grade; a sports physical needs to be on file in the main office to participate in 7th grade athletics at Sartell Middle School. Physical Form 19-20 Sports physicals are valid for three years. Call the SMS Activities office at 656-3701 ext. 2611 or email John Ross for any questions regarding physicals.
Year End Report Cards: Report Cards will be posted to Skyward Family Access the week of June 10th. If you would like a paper copy mailed to you, please contact the office at 253-2200. Thank you!
Photography, Mythology and History Trip 2021: Are you interested in traveling to Rome and Athens in the summer of 2021? We have planned a jam-packed, 8-day itinerary of popular sites in the area. Some highlights include: The Colosseum, Pantheon, Sistine Chapel, Pompeii, Parthenon, Acropolis, Delphi and so much more! We are holding an informational meeting on May 29th at 6:30pm in SHS room C107. Current 7th-10th graders will be high school students at the time of travel and are eligible for the trip without parents. Planning early gives us 2 years to fundraise for the trip!
