Equity Audit Report

  • The Equity Alliance Audit report will be presented to the Sartell-St. Stephen School Board at the June 21st meeting. The original timeline was set for May 2021, but due to COVID-19 related delays, the process was pushed out approximately one month to accommodate the changes in our learning models and to ensure a safe and quality process was able to be carried out in our schools. Following the June school board presentation, the school board will work in consultation with Equity Alliance to identify priorities and create a strategic plan for addressing those priorities. The report will be shared with the ISD 748 community at that time.

Focus Groups

  • Equity Audit Focus Groups: Equity Alliance MN hosted two Focus Groups for the Sartell-St. Stephen community on Wednesday, February 24 from 6:30-7:15 PM and 7:30-8:15 PM using the Zoom platform.

Everyone who registered was placed into a lottery and 30 people were randomly selected to participate.

Equity Audit

  • Sartell-St. Stephen ISD 748 has partnered with Equity Alliance MN, an organization that works with students, educators and districts to achieve educational equity for all students.

Equity Alliance MN and Sartell-St. Stephen ISD 748 will be working together to support systemic equity and integration within our school system. Starting this month, we will conduct an Equity Audit, a process that will support our Sabre school community in gathering data and information to identify the root causes of disproportionate outcomes among members of our school community as well as highlight promising practices for achieving equity.

The process will begin with equity surveys administered online to students in grades 3-12, staff, parents and our community. The surveys will be available from December 7-21. After the surveys are completed and compiled, focus groups from all stakeholder groups will be conducted.

As a result of completing an equity audit, Sartell-St. Stephen ISD 748 will be positioned more accurately to evaluate current practices, develop short and long term strategies for systemic change, implement targeted solutions and educate our school community as we lead the change process.

We will be sending ongoing communications throughout this process and hope to engage Sabre students, staff, parents and the community in participating and lending your critical voices.

Superintendent Schwiebert Community Message

Commitment to Equity

  • "As a school community, we are challenged to think about how we live our mission and vision.

As a school district, we are committed to ensuring that each child is part of a healthy, safe, engaged, and supported environment. We reaffirm our promise to build an inviting culture where every child feels respected and valued.

As educators, we have always believed that we have the power to change the world. We are now on the threshold of an opportunity to truly put those beliefs into action.

We believe that every child has the potential to grow and develop into a well-rounded person who contributes positively to the world. We vow to live these ideals and partner with our community in strengthening our education system to ensure an equitable and culturally responsive experience for every child.

We want to reassure our community that we are committed to standing up and stepping even deeper into this call for change."
