SHS to host Theatre Masterclass

Who: All local 9-12th graders

What: Theatre Masterclass with Hennepin Theatre Trust's Spotlight Education Program. Students choose from Acting Technique, Character Development, or Stage Management (please see below). Registration is required.

Performance Track:

  • Acting Technique – Make the words leap off the page by examining your character's objective. We will be led through a path of the emotional discovery of characters by studying action within the verbs used.
  • Character Development – Build a character that is true and memorable, whether in a play or a musical. Learn to separate the actors from the character and bind them back together.

Technical Track:

  • Stage Management – Understand the basics of prompt book development, supporting documentation and calling a production.

When: Monday, January 7 from 4:30-7p

Where: Sartell High School Auditorium

Why: As the flagship education program of the Hennepin Theatre Trust, Spotlight Education provides "students enrolled in their high school musical theatre program...professional training and guidance to enhance their artistic, technical, and performing skills."
