CAP & GOWN ORDERS: Order forms are available in the Main Office or you may order online using the Jostens website, orders are due on Wednesday, October 23. Erik Sueker, our Jostens rep will be here during lunch on Wednesday, October 23 to collect orders and answer questions.
FAFSA EVENT: This event is open to all 12th grade students. The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Financial Aid Office is hosting a FAFSA Completion Event on Monday, November 11 from 5:00 – 7:00pm in the Saint John’s University Alcuin Library. This is an opportunity for you to complete the FAFSA with your child for the 2020-21 academic year, in addition to being able to ask questions of a member of the Financial Aid Staff. Please RSVP to reserve a one-hour time slot. Complete the FSA ID Worksheet to create an FSA ID, one for the student and one for parent/guardian, before the event. Parents/Guardians will receive further information about the event when sign up is complete.
DIVERSITY CLUB: Are you interested in learning about different cultures? Is it important to you to celebrate people’s unique differences? Do you want to be part of making SHS more welcoming for all of our students? Then come check out SHS’s brand new diversity club (which doesn’t technically have a name yet). ALL ARE WELCOME so stop on by on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:50am in the Meadow’s common area if interested! Questions should be directed to Mrs. Nelson or stop by room M104. You can also email Summbla Anjum if you’d rather ask a student your questions.
LOST & FOUND: Please stop by the north Black Box staircase to claim your missing items. The lost & found table will cleared on Monday, October 21 and all remaining items will be donated to charity.
PICTURE RETAKES: ***PICTURE RETAKES HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16 STARTING AT 7:30AM*** Pictures were distributed during Sabre Advisory, please stop by the Main Office and see Amie if you did not receive your picture package. All students (9-11) need to have a picture taken to receive a student ID, and for the Yearbook (you do not need to order a picture package!) Please visit the Lifetouch website for details if you would like to order picture retakes, if you already ordered please bring your picture envelope with you on retake day!
FUTURE EDUCATORS CLUB: Will hold its next meeting on Monday, October 21 at 8:00am in room M105. The Director of Field Placements at CSB/SJU will be here, and possibly a couple current education students to discuss their experiences. If you are interested in teaching as a career, you are welcome to join us!

WINTER SPORT MEETINGS:
• The Parent-Athlete meeting for Dance, Hockey, and Nordic Skiing is scheduled for Monday, October 28 at 7:30pm in the Performing Arts Center.
• The Parent-Athlete meeting for Basketball, Gymnastics, Boys Swimming and Diving, and Wrestling is scheduled for Monday, November 11 at 7:30pm in the Performing Arts Center.
MARCHING BAND: The High School Marching Band will be traveling to Denver/Colorado Springs in the Summer of 2020. Any current 8th-12th grade students who intend to join the marching band/colorguard and would like to travel with the group should attend an informational meeting on Monday October 21 at 5:30pm in the HS Band Room.
FORECAST YOUR FUTURE: SCTCC is now accepting spots for all Forecast your Future events. Manufacturing and Construction are now full. The poster of events is attached. Students who are interested in attending any future sessions should contact Dawn Brown. Events fill quickly so if you think you want to go, get yourself registered!!! Students must provide their own transportation and be excused from school by a parent or guardian. Contact the Counseling Office with questions.

ACT SCHOLARSHIP: ACT is giving away a $15,000 Scholarship and a $5,000 technology package for students who register to take the ACT between 9/3/2019 and 6/26/2020. Students in grades 10-12 are eligible. Click here for details.

TABLE TOP GAMING CLUB: Will be starting this week and will run every Wednesday from 8:15am - 9:00am in room C224. We play a multitude of table top games...come and go as you like!
COLLEGE POSSIBLE: College Possible, is an organization that helps high school students get into, finance, and succeed in higher education. The application can be found at joincollegepossible.org. Registration deadline is October 25. If you have questions please contact your school counselor.

The District 748 Strategic Plan to support and improve teaching and learning with the goal of creating the world’s best workforce will be presented at the District Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Advisory Committee meeting on October 22 from 7:30 – 8:30am in the District Services Center Board Room.
